My mom and dad on the tram at Zion.
Mark never seemed to like having his picture taken, and in fact did EVERYTHING he could to avoid it.
Group shot at Zion. They loved it...but how could you not?! It is SO beautiful.
Classic Monique! Love it.
This was on the short hike to the Temple of Sinewava (the mouth of the narrows)
Me and my brothers. Man how time flies!
Mark being silly.
It was a LONG day!
Deer in National Parks have no fear. I think I was maybe 10 feet away when I took this.
Not sure why, but I am fascinated with lizards. Wait until I post the pictures from Capitol Reef!
Adam and Monique's first trip to Vegas. We stopped at Caesar's Palace to get a close up view of the action.
Well, those are all the pictures that I took. My mom has a ton more, but like I said, she has them...not me. I sure hope they had a good time despite all the crazy weather.
Since I mentioned it, I might as well tell the story. We planned to take them all to Salina Creek. We made good on that promise, but the weather did not cooperate. It rained ALL night the first night. The next morning we ate breakfast in a hail storm. It cleared up a little in the afternoon....just long enough to shoot the bows. Then there was a storm warning. Snow. IN JUNE!! Yep, we broke camp quick and got off the mountain. Too bad DWR won't give refunds on fishing licenses. We shelled out $50+ for four out of state permits that never got used. Oh well.
The rest of the week was uneventful compared to that day. My mom, dad and Mark stayed a couple days longer than Adam and Monique. They both had to get back for school. We celebrated Mark's birthday with some cake, ice cream and pizza (not in that order) and a little swimming at the Cedar City pool. All I have to say is that the slide is FUN and Mark does amazingly smooth back flips! We also saw Robin Hood while they were here. It is an AWESOME movie! We took my parents up to Cedar Breaks, which they loved and Mark even got the chance to fish. To top that off...he caught his first fish! Nate caught one too. I got skunked, but it was worth it to see Mark excited at catching his first, and then grossed out when I taught him how to clean it. Really...if his sister can do it, he can do it. And he did!
I'm just so glad that they were all able to come out, see our house and finally understand why I love it here so much! My mom even said she would move here. They all seemed to have a great time. Success in my book!

Looks like your mom and dad are happy! :) Thats great!
ReplyDeleteOn the non-refundable license, I guess just think of it as your donation to the park service or whatever... although, I cannot confirm that to be a charitable deduction for taxation purposes (insert tax disclaimer here... yada yada... talk to your professional tax preparer...heheheh)
Anyway, looking forward to seeing you, hopefully you dont smell like a skunk :)
